IJBPA Special Issue
We invite you to submit papers to the special issue ‘Smart Strategies for Resilient Building Adaptation and Retrofit‘ for the International Journal of Building Pathology and Adaptation (IJBPA).
The IJBPA publishes findings on contemporary and original research towards sustaining, maintaining and managing the built estate. In particular rigorous research articles, case studies and reviews concerning innovative investigations on topics related to the technical and pathological issues associated with maintaining and conserving buildings; the refurbishment and adaptation of existing buildings in response to the environmental, technological and societal developments and challenges; and emerging environmental challenges associated with sustaining the modern built environment.
The special issue of the IJBPA entitled ‘Smart Strategies’ for Resilient Building Adaptation and Retrofit‘ will be on ‘Smart’ approaches to existing buildings, to increase performance and occupant wellbeing, and also to reduce energy use and occupant discomfort. More information here:
The key themes will include: Smart defect diagnosis, Smart building performance assessment for existing buildings, Smart materials, components and building technologies, Smart building adaptation and retrofit strategies, Smart building conservation and restoration, Occupant health, safety and wellbeing issues, Challenges for sensitively enhancing the performance of existing buildings and their controls.
